type='text'>Pens Top Islanders and a Trade

Hey Pens' Fans,

First, let's talk about last night's game. Even with all the snow and road issues in the area about 13,000 fans made to the igloo for the game, myself included. It was a good game. Kunitz had two goals and Malkin added pone to give tht Pens a 3-1 victory. Fleury played a solid game. There were definetly a few uniquie moments, but it all turned out well. I think that Adams played a pretty good game and he has been failry silent in his ice time recently. Orpik played an aggressive gamew, but he took a few penelties that were not something to be entirely pleased about. Dupuis played a few particulary impressive shifts, but unfortunetly he could not keep it up all game. The whole teamed really did seem to step-up. Kris Letang and Tyler Kennedy both played some very good hockey and worked hard on both ends of the ice. This was a game where there is very little negative and it is a great mommentum to carry into the remaining games until the Olympic break.

In trade news, the Pens traded defenseman, Nate Guenin to the Blues for defenseman Steve Wagner. Wagner is 6'1" and 25 years old. He will report to Wilkes-Barre.
Snowy Days

Hey Pens' Fans,

Well, the past few days have been a bit hectic with all the snow. So, let me summarize the past few days. First, the Pens fell to Montreal. I will be honest with all the snow and issues caused by it I did not see any part of the game, at all. From what I have seen in clips and such since then I can't form a really good opinion, but I can say that it looks like that we made a fairly good effort. Now, the trip from there to DC was quite the trip for the guys: flying into Newark and bussing into DC and still being on I 95 outside Philly at 11:30 at night with a game at 12 the next day. I give them credit for playing such a good game. I expected the team to be completely drained. It was a tough game and I hate that we lost, but at least it was in OT and we got one point. The only thing that really angers me is that Ovechkin got the HT. Tomorrow, the Pens will be at home against the Islanders. It should be a good game and they have had a couple days to rest after the hectic weekend. It should be a good game. I hope everyone is able to make it to the game tomorrow, with the impending forecast. Drive Safe and Let's Go Pens! See you at the game...
<img width='1' height='1' topped the Sabres 5-4 last night. Sid had a natural hat trick, in the game. This was a tough game game to win and leave it to Crosby to make a good show. The whole team played a solid game. Everyone is talking Kovalchuk and there is little else out there that anyone is noticing. When there is a big rumor, as big as, this one, a lot of things fall by the wayside and we get blindsided by some of the deals. I know that Shero is going to do something. I think is will more than likely be on a small scale. I don't forsee any of the "Craig Patrick-like" blockbusters occuring, but he may move multiple players. I wouldn't be suprised, if nothing much goes down before the Olympic break. There is a key fact to remember: Just because there is a trade freeze during the break, does not mean that the GMs won't have a long time to talk and line things up for when that is lifted. I don't think that the deadline for the trade freeze will be anywhere near, as active as, the true trade deadline.
Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry

Pens Fall to Sens

Hey Pens' Fans,
Well, tonight was not the best of times for our Pens, but it was not the worst either. Malkin's goal was the only time we managed to to put one in the twine. We seemed to be shooting a fairly decent amount tonight. It was not one of those games where we all are frustrated by the lack of shooting. That is one thing that they definetly improved on. Fleury seemed a little shaky in net, but in turn, the defense seemed to be a bit out of sorts. They didn't seem like they could work in any sort of congruent manner. I would expect that Bylsma will juggle the lines again before Wings game to try to get that spark back in the team.
Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry

It is that Time of the Year...

... rumor time that is.

Here is what I have heard so far on the Pens rumor front. This year is just liek the others with outlandish rumors coming out of everywhere and some credible ones surfacing in ways I would not imagine. I have heard the Pens connected to everyone from Kovalchuck, to Selanne, to Neidermayer. I personally don't think these are extrememly likely, but we have all seen stranger things. In the past few years, the rumor that would not die was Recchi to the Pens. That is not the case this year, but Sykora to the Pens seems to be the current trend. I do not forsee this occuring. He has been on waivers and no one, including the Pens bit. I think this may be the rumor we all dread to hear and will continue to hear over and over again.

Now onto the rumors that seem to have more real potential or, at least intrigue. One rumor that I have been hearing is that the Pens are taking a look at Raffi Torres, of Columbus. Now, I like this rumor. I think Torres would fit into our team. He has 16 goals so far this season and is not afraid to shoot the puck. His style compliments nicely with our lineup and the current vibe is that the Blue Jackets will move him before the deadline. Another credible rumor that has some merrit, would be that of the Pens interest in Alexei Ponikarvosky. this is another play that would fit and also fit in our cap like Torres. Ponikarovsky has been a stable player for the Leafs and with current play they need a shakeup and this may be a move they try.

Now on the front of who the Pens are trying to shop to other teams, it has been pretty quiet. I have not heard who would be someone to lose on any consistant basis. The names that I have seen tossed around oin rumor land are: Dupuis, Skoula, McKee,and Eation. I have not seen any of these in enough places or with enough credibility to put much stock in it yet. I have seen it enough to not ignore, however.

I will have more on the rumors as I hear it. Please feel free to post your thoughts or rumors as a comment and I will see what I can find for you.

Pens Top Rangers

Hey, Pens' Fans,

Oh, what a night? This was a fun game to watch. The Pens topped the Rangers 4-2. Fleury returned in net and did not disappoint making 28 saves on the night. Conner had two goals and Malkin and Dupuis each added one, as well.

Gologoski, Guerin, and Talbot all missed the game due to injuries tonight. Skoula stepped into Gologoski's role and Conner was recalled from Wilkes-barre/Scranton. Conner definetly decided to make an impression in his time with the big club. He played a strong game. To top it off, he scored two goals. His play was very good and he definetly filled the void he was called up to and then some. I would expect to see him up here more often if he continues to work this hard, even without multi-goal games.

The Pens seem to be battleing through thier injury rash and seem to be playing like the team we have become accustomed to seeing. Thursday will be another test against the Senators, but the real task will be the weekend game against the Wings.

Pens Defeat Flyers

Hey, Pens' Fans,
The Pens were on the road in Philly for an early afternoon game on NBC. The Pens topped their cross-state rivals by a score of 2-1. As always, the game did not disappoint. Johnson was in goal for the Pens and made 27 saves. The rest of the Pens played a tough game, as well. Gonchar and Cooke had the goals. This game was turning into a grudge match. It was tied for so long and both teams were so close, yet so far, from taking the lead. The Pens finally broke the 1-1 stalemate late in the third. It was a classic game between these two opponents and no one disappointed. The only thing I missed was the local coverage. Somehow it is not quite the same with the NBC announcers, but that is what the radio coverage is for. It was a well played game.
Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry

Silence is Broken

Hey Pens' Fans,

I apologize for my absense from posting this season. I back now and hope that I can get this blog back to what it once was. So, I am going to jump right into it.

Recently, the Pens have had a bit of a rash of injuries sweep through the team. I know that they way they are playing, at the moment, is not what we had become accustomed to from last season. The Penguins are a formidable team and there are somethings that need to be worked on even without the injuries. The loss of Talbot and Dupuis in recent games hit the team harder than I thought. The loss of Fleury was something that we knew could be bad. I have nothing against Johnson and he is stepping up and doing his best. Unfortunetly, his best and out defesnse together are not enough at times. We are not the most defensive team out there and with Fleury in net, it is not as noticable. Don't get me wrong. We do have a lot of talented defensman. We also have some that really need to step up their game. Most notably, I think that Letang is great for us in some situations. I like his paly and that he can be offensive, when he needs to be. In our own end, he plays well, but he needs to be more defensive. I know that he is an offensive defensman, but step it up and block some shots. Also, Mark Eaton is another player that needs to stepup his game on all levels. The fact that he continues to get the amount of ice time he does just amazes me. I know I have a bit of a reputation for disliking Eaton, but I do feel that he can play better. I nhave seen him play better and he needs to do that again. On an offensive note, Malkin snapping out of his slump could not have come at a better time. We really need him to play his game and he had been down for a quite a while. Thinks are still looking fairly positive for the Pens. Major credit needs to be given Bylsma. The way he has juggleed the line with the revolving door of a roster has gone fairly well. I do really think he has quite a knack for pairing players with linemates that will work well, even if they were just called up. There were many good things to be taken from the lose to the Caps and they way the team worked together was one of them. It just all fell apart in the end. Hopefully, the team can step it up against the Flyers and really hold their own. A big win like that would do wonders foir them right now. More later....

Ready for the Preseason?

I know I am. All seems to be going well. In the scrimmage today he gave Tyler kennedy som time on the Malkin Fedatenko line. It could work, but you never know how it will end up.
I can't wait to get back to the arena to start the season. type='text'>Wow

I think that is the only thing I have been able to think since the game. What a game. It is was great to watch. The celebrations that ensued were nuts. Now, I think that I can talk about the game with a slightly more level-headed apporach.

It was a tough fought game on both sides. Fleury made some key saves. Talbot had both goals and really seemed to take it upon himself to do it. The whole team really stepped it up. Gill, Fedotenko, Orpik, Staal, and others really took it to the next level. Malkin played a solid game, as did Crosby. Sid's injjury seemed like a dark omen to me. I could see it all slipping away. The team rallied and took it to the finish.

This has been an amazing season and the Pens have earned all the credit in the world fr how they came back to make it here.

Bylsma had solidified himself as an NHL coach.

That is it for now. See everyone tomorrow at the parade.

Congratulations to the 2009 Stanley Cup Champion Pittsburgh Penguins!!!!!!!!!

I will never get sick of saying that.

Pens Win Cup!

Stanley is coming home!!!!!
More later....
Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry

Pens Win! Sykora played like a man possessed. And Mad Max was truly mad. Fleury played a solid game and a little luck helped to. Lol. Staal played a good game, as did Kennedy. The place is starting to get a crowd in it. The Players should be coming out for the pregame skate before I finish writing this.
The first 2 gameas did not go in our favor, but there were some definite bright spots. We had a lot of good scoring chances and rang at least 4 off the post in game 2. Fleury needs to be more consistant for us. We are definetly in a better place being down 2-0 in the series than we were last year. We can do this.
As predicted, the players just hit the ice. More later. This was a bit surreal.
The series in the west goes to game 5 tomorrow with the Wings p 3-1 in the series.
This looks like it could very well be a rematch of last year.
More later...
Let's Go Pens!
Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry

Game 3

Sorry fir they delay. I think I have the Flu.
Thank you to Johnny for your comments posted to my first period update. Shooting is something that a been an issue for the team. Though, as for the number of shots, we did improve. The team missed key opportunites by pass, wheb they had an open net and ended up with an easily stopped shot instead. They need to work on their timing. On the powerplay, I have noticed a drastic difference with the loss of Gonchar. The shots from the point and the rebounds from them made up a large portipon of our powerplay scoring and we need to get some part of that going again.
This was not Gill's strongest game, but I don't think he played as poorly as many are making it out to be. He played a safe game and did not go for the big play or anything too fancy. That is Gill's game. It would be nice to see him go for those bug plays though.
As for Orpik, he looked like a man possesed. He did not give tons of thundering hits, like he does, at times. He needed to be more of a thorn in the sides of the Caps. We know that he is capable of it, he just needs to take it there. The rest of his play was pretty good. He defended our end well and seemed to make fairly smart choices with the puck.
Fleury needs consistancy. He let in some really questionable goals and then made some highlight real saves. He seemed to stop the most threatening shots and let in the weaker ones. It was just odd.
I wish Gonchar was able to play, but was I ever impressed with Goligoski. He is making the most of his time up here. He was flying and made some really good plays. If he keeps performing like that, I think he will be up her next season.
That is about it. Game 7 tonight. I will have more after the game.
Win it for Gonchar!
Let's Go Pens!
Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry

Fw: End of 1st.

------ SMS Text ------
To: 40404
Sent: May 11, 2009 7:51 PM
Subject: End of 1st.
End of 1st.
Pens up 1-0. Final score 4-3.
Staal, Fedotenko, Cooke, and Malkin had the goals.
It was a tough game. I was a bit concerned, when it took so long for the first goal of the game and I was even more concerned, when the Caps tied it and then went on to take the lead. The Pens battled back and were leading, but the Caps tied it again to force the OT.
The Pens now have a series lead of 3-2. Game 6 will be back at Mellon Arena. The Pens need to close out the series at home. They will have an added challenge, Brashear's suspension will be over and I expect him to dress. These two games have proved that the Caps will do desperate things in a dirty way and that sums up Brashear. After what Ovechkin did to Gonchar, I am afraid of what brashear would try in the next game.
Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry

Game 4

The Pens played a good solid game to earn the win. Gonchar, Guerin, Fedotenko, Crosby, and Talbot all scored and that is the type of variety we like to see on the score sheet.
Mad Max Talbot was definetly in playoff form. He was all over the ice.
Orpik look like a man on a mission to takeout someone. He was purely possessed and that brought a huge fire to his play.
Crosby played a great game. I recall one shit where the team faltered he got his own pass, shotn got the rebound back on the cage from in close, and then managed to keep it in at the blue line a few seconds later. He was everywhere.
Ovechkin's hit on Gonchar was something that needs to be reveiewed by the league. I feel it showed an intent to injur, but and fine and or suspension was at the discretion of the league. We must remember one thing. Retribution needs to be earned on the ice. The best thing the team could do right now is shut down Ovechkin. Keep him off the score sheet. Rattle his cage a bit and do everything that we can to him without committing penelties. Perhaps, that will cause him to blatantly do something stupid and take a critical penelty. Also, we just need to win. That would surely piss him off.
Gonchar is listed with a lower body injury, likely his knee, from what I have heard. He will definetly miss today's game and likely the rest if this series. Goligoski has been recalled to fill the void. Though, no one can really take Gonchar's place. Our powerplay. After his injury, proved that. We had no idea how tpo get the puck in zone. It was almost comical, at first.
Game 5 tonight
Let's Go Pens!
Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry

Game 3

What a game.
Sorry for the delay in my post.
Game three held all the hope for the series. It looked like the Pens had a very good chance and then the Caps scored with Fleury scambling back into position and without his stick. It truly thought that would be the beginning of the end, but thankfully I was wrong.
The Pens battles hard throughout the game. Fedatenko's goal really seemed to put the wind back in their sails.
Malkins goal was much needed for the lead. It was also good to see him put the puck in the net, after a little draught.
The Caps goal to force the OT should had made me feel the major anticipation that comes with sudden death, but it didn't. The Pens were strong in the OT and Letang's goal gave us the win.
It was a hard fought game. Crosby scored again and then late in the thrid it was 4-2 Caps. Ovechkin had a hat trick and then Crosby added his third goal for his hat trick to make it 4-3 Caps.
The pens have a problem. It is consistancy. We cannot play a solid 60 minute game.
Our powerplay did record a goal tonight, but it was still not as it should be. We did lose, but it was close for the most part. We need to get our powerplay together. For as much talent as we have, it should have done better than that. I thought we had a real hope of winning today, when Sid opened the scoring. Eaton's goal was unexpected and welcomed. Fleury played okay. He was not stellar, but not horrid either. The Pens need to find the grit they used against Philly to comback abd dominate game 2. We need to come back home with one win to show for it, if not I fear that it would be too much to comeback from.
Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry

Bylsma

Well, as you have probably already heard, Dan Bylsma has signed a multi-year deal with the Pens, as their head coach. Finishing off the Flyers at home should have been it.
We played a sloppy game. We gave up after the first goal. We went back to dumping the puck in, but most of the time we forgot the all important chase part of dump and chase.
Biron played a great game for his team and was really standing on his head.
Sid was frustrated by the end of the game. Those two penelties were not like him, at all.
I do think that Boucher deserved his spot in the lineup tonight. He did play a fairly solid game, but was by no means a star either. If I were Bylsma, I would not regret that decision.
I would regret dressing Satan. Why would we think that he would suddenly contribute now? He hasn't done anything useful for the majority of the season and he certainly didn't accomplish anything tonight.
I do hope that Letang is back in the lineup for for game six.
That's it for now.
Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry

Whiteout

As everyone probably heard, it is a whiteout tonight at the game. The epns proved yet again that they have a special talent at being the "Brodeur killers." 6-1 was the final score. Fleury played a pretty solid game. The jersey goal was a bit of a weak point, but the rest of his play more than made up for it. There were many player in on the Pens goals tonight. They are: Cooke, Guerin, Malkin, Crosby, Staal, and Kunitz. It was the type of game we needed to start a streak into the playoffs. We did have a stretch, where I was having visions of yet another ot and shootout, but that not the case. Kunitz had the hatrick this afternoon. Guerin and Sykora each had goals and Staal added the empty-netter. Garon seemed shakey in goal and his left me very uneasy. Dupuis and talbot also had good games, though they didn't make the score sheet. Tyler Kennedy had two goals in this game. He played one of the strongest that I have seen him play , overall. It was good to see Crosby back in the lineup. His injury did not seem to be bothering him. Billy Guerin made his debut with the Pens and he seemed to fit in fairly well. He will definetly be an assest to the team. Crosby and letang had the pens other two goals. It was a good win, as the pens continue to claw their way up the standings.
Sergei Gonchar missed the game. He flew back to Pittsburgh to be with his wife for the birth of their daughter, Victoria. type='text'>Deadline Day Deals and Rumors

Satan was placed on waivers would clear around 12 today. I would think that he won't be a penguin after today, but that may be wishful thinking.
Former Pens Gary Roberts was placed on waivers by Tampa.
Pens are said to be looking at Prucha.
Pens are also said to be lookin at the jokinen deal that will likely go down.
Word is the pens still want a winger.
Former pen mark Recchi looks to be on the move, but not back to the burgh. I liked Recchi, but he has been a pen more times than he should have.
In other news, marian hossa was taken off in the first period against the blues on a stretcher, after a nasty slide into the boards. He had missed the 2 previous games with a neck injury. They kept him overnight for observation. He was said to have feeling in his limbs.
The pens defeated tampa last night. Recchi and roberts both sat out for the bolts. Crosby did not play, but is expected to return soon. It was a great game and how about kunitz? He has been on fire since he arrived. The win continued to boost the pens in the standings and we are solidly in the race for the playoffs now, unlike Tampa.
More as the day progresses.
Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry

Pens win 4-1 over stars

Staal, Satan, Letang, and Malkin had the goals for the Pens. The pens were not exactly outplayed. We stuck with it, but we had some major problems breaking into our zone. Once we got it we did half way decent. Ir was not pretty and not the game we needed. The team needs to move on and keep looking foward. This was a game we could have won, if we kept it together. We can't afford to lose many more conference games. It was low scoring, but there were tons of shots on either side.
From what I have heard there at least 4-5 teams with scouts in the building tonight.
Gonchar should be dressed for the next game, if all goes well.
More later...
Let's Go Pens!!!
Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry

Rumor land gonchar cleared to play

First, gonchar has been cleared to play, but probably won't tonight.
In the rumor world, I am hearing we have major interest in martin st louis. Ty Conklin played a great game for the wingsN which was a major factor. The pens were flying in the first period. They tapered off a bit after that. The last ten minutes of the third period were the utter downfall of the game. Letang was having a good game, as were Crosby and Malkin. Talbot, who has been pretty silent lately, made a few good plays today. Orpik played a solid game today, though he seemed to have not been hitting quite as miuch, but I haven't seen the numbers yet. Whitney had few decent attempts today. I wish he would shoot the puck more. He has a wicked shot from the point. There were some good points to the game, but unfortunetly it wasn't enough. There are a lot of teams out there that we could have beaten with todays performance. Detroit just isn't one of them.
Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry

Pens down jackets

Hey, Pens Fans
Sorry for the delay in the post. The pens played a fairly solid game on friday night. It was a good game to watch and resulted in only our second back to back win since november. Letang had 2 goals, and was largely the driving force behind a large portion of the game. The whole team played well.
Hopefully, the fire from last years playoffs is buring anew for the detriot game tomorrow.
Let's Go Pens!
Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry

Pens take on the Habs

Tonight, the Pens were in Montreal taking on the Habs, who recently lost former pens robert lang to and achilles tendon injury. Caputi had his first nhl goal tonight. They did not play a horrible game. I would have liked to have seen the pens get the puck to the net more. I am not sure why we waited, as long as we did, to pull Fleury. We. Just didn't have enough to pull it out, even with the late penelty.
The pens really need to work on playing a solid game and they need to play with a bit of desperation. The team needs to turn it around fast. If not, that dream of making the playoffs will be nothing but that.
On the rumor front, there is not much to say in the world of the pens. There is a lot of talk going around the league, right now. It is pretty quite, when it comes to the pens. More as I hear it.
Sometimes, with Ray Shero, I think that the more quiet it is; there is more that is really going on.
Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry

Back to back losses

Well, the pens lost two games this weekend. In both the devils and the leafs games, the pens did not play a "full" 60 minutes. Tonight's loss to the leafs was a tougher pill to swallow than last night's ot loss in jersey. The pens need to get a good streak going, if they want to make the playoffs. On the injury front, gonchar could be back by the end of february.
Rumor season is heating up. The pens are linked to a lot of potential deals, but nothing too solid to go on yet. Tkachuck is one name I have heard in a few places. The All-Star festivities seemed to go quite well in Montreal, though I was not there to witness it in person this year, as I was in Atlanta. It was a great event from my stand point. Maybe Crosby will eventually not be injured on All-Star weekend. Malkin seems to have a good time from all accounts. In addition to our recent list of injuries 4 more players missed
from injuries sustained in the caps game. They are: crosby,
Scuderi , talbot, and letang. A lot of players really stepped up
tonight. Cooke had two goals and gill added one, as well. With the
losses that we had sustained, I thought tonight might have been really
bad, but I am glad to say that I was wrong. On a side note, there
were, at least, six teams, with scouts in the building tonight. They
were mostly from the western conference from what I heard. I have
had some things to deal with that cut drastically into my hockey time,
but I am back and on top of the latest pens news. Last night's game
was a hard blow, when it came to injuries. Crosby took a nasty spill
along the boards and appears to have injured his left leg. It looks
like he was favoring from what I could tell. Scuderi blocked a shot
with his face, which is never a good thing. I would expect he would
miss a game or two. He was bleeding quite significantly and post game
those, who saw him, said he had significant swelling near his eye.
Letang left the game with an injury, but returned to finish the game.
Talbot left the game with an injury, but I am not sure exactly what
was injured. On the rumor front, the Pens are looking, but I do not
have any solid leads. Sydor had to waive his NTC for the trade to go through. In exchane the Pens get Phillipe Boucher, who like Sydor, is in the last year of a a 2.5 million contract. Boucher is -4 and has 3 points in 16 games this season. Hopefully, this will be just enough of a shake-up to boost the team to a more consistant defensive level. Malkin played a solid game tonight and put
up some good numbers. Staal played a good game, as well. The powerplay
still has some room for improvement, but is coming along. Tonight, was
also the at home debut of third powder blue third jerseys. Goligoski,
Malkin, and Fedotenko each had a goal. It seemed that the Pens were going to run
away with it, they managed to blow another big lead. It was not our
best game and it was not pretty, but we pulled out a win. Fleury let
in a couple flooky bounces, but it really seemed to knock him off his
game. Sabourin played a solid game for the third period and the OT.
He made some spectacular saves in the shoot out. It was a tough game,
and we finished strong. We didn't play a perfect game, but the result was no less sweet. Going into the third period it was not looking like we would pull it out, but did we ever. Jordan Staal deserves that hat trick and it was great for him to get it in that game. He has seemed a bit haunted early this season and it was great to see him breakout. Crosby, Talbot, and Malkin also had goals in the game and Fedotenko had the game-winner in ot. Staal played one of his best game and Crosby was on top of his game. It was a great night. Rob Scuderi left the game, after blocking a shot. We had what seemed to be an unconquerable lead, but they almost proved me wrong on that. It was a heated game and the Pens played well for the first two periods. The third period needs largely to be erased from our memories. It was horrid.

Tonight, the Pens have been strong on a fairly consistant basis through regulation. Malkin's hand seems to be both an issue and a non-issue. It has to be effecting him, but it is not obvious. Sabourin has been pretty good in net tonight. Jordan Staal is playing a strong game tonight. It was great to see him get that goal. Kennedy has played a fantastic game, as well. He has two goals tonight. Sykora scores a great back-hander in the shootout to win it for the Pens. The puck going down Sabourin's pad was just the comical end to a flukey game. Bad ice and all, it was an interesting night for the Pens.

Rumors have Begun

Well, I have been a bit under the weather recently, but I am back. I am sure many of you recall the rather bad storms that went few SW PA a few weeks ago. Well, ever since, y initernet has been blinking on and off every minute or two. The very abbreviated post that I did get up was nothing much, but all my technical issues seem to be fixed now. It took Comcast long enough.

Saturday's game was amazing. the Peens won the 4-1 decision over the Leafs. Dupuis, Satan, Crosby, and Sykora had the goals. Fleury played yet another spectacular game. Incase you didn't get the memo, it was milestone night at the Igloo. Crosby got his 200th assist. Then, he got his 300th point on his next assist. Then, he got his 100th goal. It was crazy. Malkin got his 200th point. It was crazy. It was hockey. That was one of the strongest games for the team, as a whole.

More on the Pens after tonight's game concludes. Assuming that my internet is still functioning. I lost my internet conneection on Friday and just got it back.

Stockholm Game One:
This was a great way to open the season. It was a tough game and I was basically pleased with the Pens performance. Our power play needs a little more time to gel. With recently losing Gonchar to injury and this season now havin Staal taking Malone's old spot in front of the net, there is a lot to adjust to.
The game was an OT win with the score 4-3. Kennedy had two goals, including the game-winner, and Malkin and Scuderi eachc had one. Fleury seemed to play a fairly good game and I was not disappointed by his performance.

Stockholm Game 2:
This game was tough. It was scoreless for quite some time. It then seemed to go downhill rather quickly. Goligoski got his first NHL goal. The team, as a whole, just had a tough game. I wish it could have been better

Genreal Thoughts:
I don't like having Ruutu on the other team.

Our defense is not as solid as it would be without the injuries and may take a bit of time to get it together.

I am really liking the looks of our new first line.

I love the rule change pertaining to comercials after icing calls.
